It is not abnormal to have unsymmetrical body parts, be if facial features, breasts and even labia. There is NEVER any reason to surgically alter your labia unless you are trying to have a career in porn. If someone else has a problem with how your vagina looks, its time to stop letting that someone else see it. And if you have a problem with how it looks, well stop looking at it. Genitals are pretty funny looking in general if you really think about it.

Pain and discomfort? Or the fact that you're embarrassed of it? I know that you've already made the decision, but just know that you aren't abnormal if you have a larger inner labia (I do too and have never had any of my partner's say anything negative about it). Is it really worth the pain and risk of surgery? A lot of labiaplasty's make them look worse in my opinion.

However, if you are truly are in THAT much pain and discomfort from it, you can just tell people that you have ovarian surgery because you had a cyst, or something along those lines.

Additional Info: NO. I am telling you that you have NOTHING to be ashamed of. Labiaplasty is usually just a cosmetic surgery and many women make the excuse that it is painful or hurts them. I am studying to be a women's health doctor, so I know a lot about this. I understand that it can be embarrassing for some people to have a larger labia, which is why I made that statement. Learn to love your body and what you were born with.

Sure, you can always try.
What is the worst that could happen? That she may decide to drop you and look for a less insensitive, better appreciative and more mature boyfriend.

It's quite expensive and you really don't need it if it's not causing any real problems. I'm sure it's annoying but I bet you can handle it.

They're only going to cover things that are medically necessary . . .and I think the operation you are looking for, isn't going to fix the problems.

Many women see it as unnecessary. If a woman already has a satisfying sex life, does not suffer from regular yeast infections or irritation, and is not self conscious about the way things look downstairs, then why would she bother? And, by the way, it's not a cure for yeast infections, and there's no guarantee that the woman would feel more confident, and some of the "enhanced sexual pleasure" could be due to the fact that women who do this have body issues and after the surgery they are more comfortable with themselves, so the sex may seem better to them. I can see it if the labia are like deformed or something, but as long as it's all normal, then It is what it is. That is definitely one area that women should not feel self conscious about.

Hi Mel,

I run a site dedicated to helping women with useful information regarding labiaplasty so they find the best doctor for their specific needs.

Here is a list of several doctors in your area. They are either Plastic Surgeons or Cosmetic Gyns.

GA http://www.colgrove.com/
GA http://www.lvratlanta.com
TN http://www.theplasticsurgerycenterofnashville.com/
TN http://www.cosmeticsurgeonnashville.net/
AL http://brownandmccool.com/lvr.html

Hope this helps. If you have other questions, feel free to contact me (vanessa@vaginal-surgery.info).

Best wishes regarding your search. Take your time and continue doing your homework to find a qualified doctor. You will be glad you did!
